Simple Fall Decor
Updated: Dec 11, 2020

One thing you can really credit Farmhouse Style with is simplifying everything when it comes to the home. It's also notable that Farmhouse Style really came into its own during the recent recession when all of us discovered we could live very happily with a lot less. Even though most people are buying less, they seem to be more dedicated to finding just the right piece they are looking for and are willing to pay for quality. Bottom line ... less quantity, more quality.
When it come to seasonal decor, there will always be those of us who go all out and over the top. But the trend today is far more simple, Making a statement, and creating a warm and welcoming greeting for your home doesn't take a lot. What it takes today is a little more creativity.
Once upon a time, if you were decorating for fall, you chose a few colors ... orange, gold and brown. You chose a few items ... pumpkins, leaves, pinecones, limbs. Fabrics were most often plaid and in the chosen colors. But that has all changed today for three reasons. Number 1, the emergence of Farmhouse Style, number 2, the need to lighten up everything in and around our lives, and number 3, the emergence of turquoise as a popular fall color.
The new colors of fall are soft whites, soft corals, other soft pastels including a variety of pale greens and aquas, and turquoise. You will find pumpkins in many colors grown naturally today.. If you can't find what you are looking for just paint them! Pinecones, acorns and sticks and twigs are still very much in style, along with leaves although you will see more yellow in vogue today than ever before. Green, especially moss, is in style no matter the season. Candles and Lanterns will always be in style and welcoming in and around your home.
As we always say, whatever makes your heart sing and you just want to curl up, slow down the world around you, that's what your choice of decor should be. What you love, not what someone else expects. Here's a few ideas to get you thinking about fall ...
Enjoy!
